About The Outer Banks Hospital
The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary
Responsible for following established treatment plan established by the occupational therapist and providing Occupational Therapy treatments. These services are based on the patient/family preferences and the developmental needs, medical conditions and diseases as they affect patient care and recovery. The occupational therapy assistant will be responsible for maintaining patient care documentation and adherence to documentation guidelines. The occupational therapy assistant shall participate in patient care staffing and assist other team members in understanding the patient problems as related to the patient's occupational performance.
Minimum Requirements
High School plus 2 yrs of formal education/experience is required. Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant is required- or higher.
Graduation from an accredited school with Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Progressive and dynamic knowledge of Occupational Therapy and a willingness to participate in continuing education, to remain current in new theories of treatment. Ability to work with other health care professionals in a manner that will ensure continued cooperative efforts.
Certified by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy Assistant(NBCOT) required.
OTA licensure with State of North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT) required.
At least one year of experience in a hospital or rehabilitation type setting is preferred to be employed as a Flat Rate Occupational Therapy Assistant.
